What are you doing for Easter? Easter is celebrated many different ways and of course like a lot of Holiday Traditions we can participate in many different ways. There are:
- Easter Cards
- Easter Flowers
- Easter Crafts
- Easter Egg Decorating and Egg Hunts
- Easter Bunnies
- Easter Parades
- Easter Religious Celebrations
- Easter Family Dinners…and on and on!
If you are looking for a Family outing for Easter here’s one to consider:
Saturday, March 30th, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Town Square and the streets of Zona Rosa
In 2006 Zona Rosa reintroduced a local favorite: Kansas City’s own Easter Parade. This FREE community event features the Easter Bunny, a best dressed contest for the whole family and a live performance by Mr. Stinky Feet, a petting zoo and much more!
The Easter Parade at Zona Rosa has invited the community each year, for a free, family friendly walking parade throughout the Town Center streets. This year, they’re extending an invitation to include any of those wishing to ride throughout the parade, providing you supply your own vehicle, in an effort to help raise awareness for your business, your non-profit community organization, a 2013 campaign, your school, dance studio, band… the list goes on. Motorized vehicles AND parade floats are welcome! *With registration. Click HERE to download your printable form.
There will be Awards for the best dressed contest that takes place at Town Square directly following the parade. Awards are given to those sporting their Easter/Spring finery, and are awarded in the following categories: Most Outstanding Family; Most Outstanding Lady; Most Outstanding Man; Most Outstanding Girl; Most Outstanding Boy; Most Outstanding Pet.
For some, Easter is more about the Easter Bunny, for others it is one of the most joyous celebrations of their faith. I think Easter is a wonderful time of the year. It’s also a signaling of Spring, the longer days of Summer soon to come, new beginnings and family get-togethers.
As a child I can still remember coloring Easter Eggs and enjoying a great sit down dinner with my family. Easter’s just different…it’s not as commercial as Christmas and there’s definitely not as much pressure to buy gifts and entertain.
For me, it’s a time to relax, have a Special dinner, remember some of the Easter Traditions my parents had us participate in and spend a day with family (maybe I’ll even do some Easter Eggs!). I hope you and your family enjoy this Easter, celebrating your Easter Tradition…or possibly starting a new one.
Happy Easter from our family at Midwest Medical to yours!
P.S. Research has shown that dark chocolate is actually healthy for you because it contains higher levels of cocoa solids than milk or white chocolate. According to a Harvard Medical School study, one square (about 7 grams) of dark chocolate a day can help reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. So, when you’re reaching for a treat this Easter, try a piece of dark chocolate! It’s healthier for you!
