Radiesse for Hand Rejuvenation: It’s a Possibility

Kylie’s lips. Jennifer’s hair. Kim’s booty. Your hands? Look out, World, hand model material coming through! The newest treatment for hands was recently approved by the FDA. Radiesse for hand rejuvenation may be soon heading your way and you could be the next trendsetter!

The prescription dermal filler is currently available to help eradicate those unwanted lines and wrinkles from your face. When it is injected, it plumps up the skin. Eventually, it naturally stimulates your body to produce its own natural collagen as the Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres break down. Firmer, younger skin quickly appears and lasts.

Okay, this makes sense for your face, but how can it help your hands? Those marvelous mitts tend to give away your age as the skin starts to get red and blotchy. Age spots, oh my! Bones, tendons, and veins start to show. Skin may also start to get scaly and reptile-like. Radiesse injections plump up the skin so that you cannot see through it. Those patchy spots seem to disappear as the body’s natural collagen kicks back into gear. Effects are almost immediately noticeable and can last at least a year. Some trial participants have reaped the benefits for almost two years! It is so much better than the current traditional method of injecting that bulky and lumpy fat from another part of your body into your hands.

Even the younger crowd is getting in on the action. Have some new bling to show off? Recently engaged? Make your hands look their best when you take those photos to share.

So far, side effects seem to be at a minimum. Most common were redness and swelling at the injection site, which were mild to moderate, requiring no treatment over the short duration of discomfort. Patients need to remember that any procedure carries some risk. Talk to your doctor about your medical history and discuss the potential risks. The price is also steep and is not covered by insurance. Patients have found, though, that only one treatment is necessary, so the investment could be worth it!
